Friday May 30, 2008 - Everyone knows someone affected by heart disease or stroke. For those we love, we will be walking in this year’s 2008 Hall County Start! Heart Walk. We have set a team and personal goals to raise funds for the American Heart Association and need your help to reach our donation goal. We are raising critical dollars for heart disease and stroke research and education.

You can help us reach our goal by making a donation online. Go to the following link and you will be taken to the 2008 Hall County Start! Heart Walk page where you can make a secure online credit card donation. You can do a team search for Team Overdrive and view our team's page.

The American Heart Association's online fundraising website has a minimum donation amount of $25.00. If you prefer to donate less, you can do so by sending a check directly to Overdrive Logistics, Inc.

Walk begins at 10:00 AM

What: As the American Heart Association’s signature event, the Heart Walk promotes
physical activity and heart-healthy living in a family fun environment. This year over 1 million walkers will participate in more than 500 events, raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and no. 3 killers, heart disease and stroke.

Who: The Hall County Heart Walk is for everyone. The majority of walkers are employees of companies who have committed to participate in the Hall County Heart Walk to promote a healthy lifestyle among their employees, build a collaborative, team-oriented work environment and give back to the community as a good corporate citizen. This year, the American Heart Association anticipates over 1200 attendees at the Hall County Heart Walk.

When: Saturday, September 20, 2008
Festivities will begin around 9:00 am. The 5K walk begins at 10:00 am. Lunch is provided for all walkers when they return from the walk route.

Where: The Spirit Rock is located at Pearl Nix Parkway and Wilshire Dr. in Gainesville

How: It is easy to participate in the Hall County Heart Walk! Once your company or organization is committed to participate, American Heart Association staff works with you to insure your company has a great experience. As an individual you can sign up to walk as well.
